Description: 14 January 2023 was celebrated as the 23rd Balbhawan Day. It is a celebration, on Thanksgiving, by the Balbhawan children, to all the benefactors who have generously contributed to their well-being, through the past years. It's a day when all the children of Bal Bhawan come together as one. The theme for this year was WE ARE ONE, which portrayed our country as a united nation. There were speeches by both Fr. Bento and Fr. Carvalho. The programme commenced with the children singing the song "My Balbhawan Day" as they entered. There was Prayer Dance on a Konkani Mangalorean song by the children of classes 4 and 5. The children of classes 1,2 and 3 sang a rendition of the song "One moment in time". The highlight of the programme was the songs and dance sequence of 30-40 mins, where the children performed and sang patriotic songs. "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" was the inspiration behind those songs. This sequence showed the journey of our country from before Independence to this day and in between. Then, the band played "Can you feel the love tonight" and "Una Paloma Blanca". There was also a dance performance by the super seniors, who have passed out of Balbhawan. The programme concluded with all the children singing "One people". It was a beautiful get-together of all the Balbhawan children and staff, benefactors, Fathers, sisters, teachers from all sister schools and many well-wishers and friends.
